The two-story museum building of the Hong Kong Department of Correctional Services used to serve as a home for married prison staff located next door.
In general, this whole small area is still very close to prison service buildings and facilities.
Despite this neighborhood, the Hong Kong authorities decided to educate their population, including, probably, children. Perhaps for the purpose of intimidation.
In the museum, you can see how Hong Kong’s correctional system has changed over the past 160 years. It’s worth starting, of course, with the gallows, since its layout is present here. Several galleries of the museum feature instruments of torture, prisoner crafts, household items, and more. We personally consider two cameras to be the jewel of the collection, one of which reproduces the life of prisoners living a few hundred meters from the museum.

The phrase fits perfectly here: It’s better to see once than to get in once. Well, for fans of unusual museums, this is definitely a must see.
