Botanical and Zoological Gardens of Hong Kong

The garden itself is located in the Central area, which leads to Victoria Peak. According to the layout of both gardens, they are separated by Albany Road, and connected by an underground tunnel. In the eastern part there is the familiar world of plants and birds, there is also a playground, and in the western part there is the world of wild animals. The total length of the gardens is five and a half hectares, which are almost equally divided into both parts. To be more precise, the garden is located on the road leading to that very peak, so tourists usually look there to take a break from the hustle and bustle.
In general, if you combine everything, this place is the most unusual attraction that easily attracts Hong Kong residents and tourists. This place will stay in your memories for a long time, bringing wonderful feelings.
Surprisingly, it was the botanical garden (also called the Old Garden) that was founded in the 19th century, but it did not stop its development, but continued to become the best of the attractions, attracting the interest of tourists and residents of Hong Kong. But how many plants are there in the garden? Thousands of species! There are an awful lot of them! It turns out that some of the plants in this garden bloom all year round, but there are good greenhouses for heat-loving plants. Figs, palm trees, cypresses, pink and orchid trees, and even common trees such as conifers.
Well, in the eastern part of the garden there is the same greenhouse. Roses, chrysanthemums, peonies, ferns and even houseplants bloom in it. And you can just not talk about 150 species of other plants. This place is just perfect for any kind of vacation.

Unlike the botanical garden, the zoological garden was founded only in 1975. Perfectly complementing the green zone and becoming one with it. The Zoological Garden is often called a recreation park. And why is it called that? It’s just when people go in there, not even suspecting that it’s a zoo. Because there are no guards, fences, or even signs. Therefore, when people hear the roar of a tiger or the cries of monkeys, they are terribly surprised, and then they just get excited. In the zoological garden you can see fast cheetahs and proud lions, as well as alligators, large turtles, lemurs, monkeys and even macaques. And even the most unusual and exotic birds. Among the birds you will see noble flamingos, beautiful cranes and geese and ducks that are so familiar to us. In total, the zoological garden contains 70 reptiles, 70 mammals and 500 birds in 40 separate rooms. An amazing place that you need to visit at least once, but you certainly want to more than once.
All tourists are very interested in unusual monkeys, which are called Golden Tamarins, which attract others with their bright and alluring colors and unusual manes.
In a place like this, you can have a great time with your family, swinging on a swing, reading books, or just admiring the flowers. A couple in love will easily find a secluded corner for closer communication. And if you come alone, you can just as easily and simply find something to do. The triple fountain, which is surrounded by benches and beautiful plants and unusual animals, will also be a great place to relax.
Nature in a place like this seems completely untouched. Therefore, it is always calm, comfortable and very quiet here. While walking, you may notice objects from different historical eras. I assure you that this is not a fake, but a real asset that nature has provided for us in its own way.

In another educational and exhibition center, you will be shown stuffed crocodiles, sea turtles and other animals with which you can take pictures for free. The longest resident of the zoological garden was the cheetah, who lived there for 20 years, but even after his death he continued to exist there to this day, but in the form of a stuffed animal. We can say that he stayed there as the most beloved and loyal resident of the zoo. So let’s hope that the aviaries there will never be empty, but on the contrary will be replenished with more and more new species of animals, and the park itself will never be left without visitors who are welcome there.
I also inform you that the entrance to this garden is completely free, and visiting hours start exactly from six in the morning until ten in the evening, so grab the whole family and rush there. Take a little pet food with you, maybe they’ll let you feed those animals.
Of course, it’s a bit disappointing that couples won’t be able to sit there until midnight and watch the sunrises, but I assure you, you’ll see how the buds close at sunset and how exactly the animals you want to see spend their evening.
