The Murray House is named after Sir George Murray (1772-1846), a British soldier and politician.
Despite its appearance and references to the Victorian era, the building was built and renovated in 1998-1999. The original building was built in 1844, but in 1982 it was dismantled and moved to the Stanley district.
Until the 1960s, the building served as barracks for British Army soldiers.
And now this building gives the Stanley Market area a special flavor and atmosphere, even though it has been occupied by various restaurants. By the way, some of them have a very good view of the bay.
