Hotels in the Central and Western districts of Hong Kong Island
Since there are areas in Hong Kong that are more attractive to tourists and less popular, the concentration of hotels in one area is about the same. Naturally, Hong Kong Island itself is the most crowded with visitors. Those who have come to this special administrative and economic region to spend a vacation stay here, and those for whom a trip here is a business trip.

What hotels can I recommend in this part of Hong Kong? Those who decide to stay in the very center, most often choose the Hotel LKF By Rhombus on Wyndham 33 Street. This five-star Lan Kwai Fong Hotel is a 10-minute walk from the central station, in the busiest part of the city, close to restaurants, entertainment, shopping and business centers. The famous Pacific Place Shopping Mall is nearby, and the nearest Admiralty metro makes it convenient to connect to any point in the city. The address of the Queensway Hotel is 88. The hotel has 602 superior rooms, there are 6 restaurants, one of them serves Cantonese cuisine, the other – dishes from a variety of seafood.
The luxury Conrad Hong Kong Hotel is located in another multi-storey tower at this address, providing its guests with a truly heavenly stay in Hong Kong. The hotel is directly connected by a passage to the Pacific Place shopping center. Almost any pleasure is available here, and the rooms offer an unforgettable view of Victoria Harbor, a port built by the British. The hotel has 502 rooms, and the price for them ranges from 700 to 800 dollars per night.
The stunning Shangri-La Hong Kong Island, also located above Pacific Place Shopping Center, is not inferior in prices. The 56-storey tower houses 565 stunning luxury rooms, from the huge windows of which you can contemplate the vibrant life of Hong Kong. Luxury hotels include the Mandarin Oriental on Connaught Road, which, in addition to its beautifully appointed rooms, offers guests magnificent views of Victoria Harbour.
For a less biased traveler, Hong Kong Island also offers excellent hotels – they do not have fabulous luxury, but the standard of comfort meets international requirements and is not only not inferior, but perhaps surpasses the level of comfort in similar hotels in other countries.
For example, The Mercer Boutique Hotel, located at 29 Jervois Street, is a one-minute walk from Shueng Wan Metro Station. The modern design of the hotel makes its space bright and spacious. Free internet, an outdoor swimming pool, and a free shuttle service to the International Financial Center and the airport are just pleasant additional bonuses to the comfort provided by the 55 rooms housed in a relatively low multi-storey building. 300-400 dollars per day is quite an adequate price for the service offered here.
Bishop Lei International House on Robinson Road 4 is a hotel that many travelers return to on their subsequent visits, leaving rave reviews. The rooftop pool, proximity to Soho, free delivery of guests to the most popular areas of the island, a gym with instructors, a restaurant and a Heavenly Terrace with magnificent views from the windows make this modern and beautiful hotel even more attractive. The hotel is slightly removed from the center of the island and is located in a fairly quiet, pleasant area, just a few steps from the world’s longest escalator system, The Central–Mid-levels. Staying in one of the hotel’s 225 rooms will cost $150-250 per night and even cheaper if the hotel announces special promotions and discounts at the time of your stay, which happens quite often.
So, for example, the four-star Ramada Hong Kong Hotel at 308 Des Voeux Road, a small skyscraper with a magnificent view of Victoria Harbour, sometimes provides the opportunity to rent a wonderful two-room room at a price of $ 25 per night for a stay of at least a week, provided that the usual price is from $ 220. So, when booking a hotel, do not forget to check the “Special offers” page on its website.
Among the hotels that are particularly loved are Mingle At The Eden at 148 Wellington Street and mini hotel Central at 38 Ice House. Both establishments are located in the Soho area, both are distinguished by their convenient location, good service and elegant room decor. These are fairly small and relatively inexpensive hotels – up to $ 200, you have to book rooms in them almost a year in advance. Sohotel Hongkong (address: 139 Bonham Strand) is located in approximately the same price range – from $ 120 per room. Small – only 37 rooms – clean, beautiful, cozy, located near the beaches and within walking distance to Shueng Wan metro station.
The Garden View, located at 1 Macdonnell Road, is also close to these hotels in terms of price and excellent living conditions. Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the rooms with light and provide an opportunity to admire the island. It is just a 10-minute walk from the hotel to the Peak Tram, the lift road to Victoria Peak, Hong Kong’s highest peak. It should be added that you can get from here to the airport in just half an hour.
Ovolo 286 Queen’s Road Central at the same address will add to the list of hotels offering rooms priced around $200 in this part of the island. All rooms (57 of them) are decorated in high-tech style and feature modern comfort. A 2-minute pleasant walk to Soho and a 10-minute walk to Sheung Wan Subway Station only emphasize the convenient location of the hotel.
Of course, it is impossible to name all the hotels that are located here, but it is worth adding to the list the Traders Hotel, located at 508 Queen’s Road West and demonstrating true Asian hospitality. There are 283 comfortable, bright rooms priced from 80-90 dollars and perfect service, which earned the hotel a place in the list of the 25 best hotels in Hong Kong “Travelers’ Choice 2012”.

Hotels in the East District of Hong Kong Island
The eastern part of the island is especially loved by tourists looking for entertainment and interested in shopping. There are quite a variety of hotels in various price categories for their taste. The Harbour Grand Hong Kong, a 5-star hotel located almost between the North and East of the island at 23 Oil Street, is certainly one of the expensive luxury hotels. The price of rooms is up to $ 500, and this includes not only excellent service and beautifully decorated rooms, but also an outdoor rooftop pool and free shuttle service. The hotel is very well located – it is within easy reach of the Causeway Bay and Wanchai shopping districts, Victoria Harbour, and various entertainment centers. East Hong Kong 4-star Hotel is located next to Tai Koo Subway Station (address Taikoo Shing Road, 29). It’s almost right next to the famous City Plaza shopping center and just a 45-minute drive to the airport. Comfortable rooms with a view of Victoria Harbor, excellent service, good prices (300-400 dollars), a large number of rooms (345) – all these are the distinctive features of the hotel.
Harbour Plaza North Point has 4 stars and is located directly at the Quarry Bay Metro Station, address King’s Road, 665. There is an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness center. A free shuttle service to Causeway Bay, Wanchai and the airport is provided. The restaurant serves a wide range of Chinese dishes. 669 rooms are available at prices ranging from $250 to $400.
The Ibis North Point Hotel will make a budget trip pleasant and comfortable. Here you can book a room from $ 80 per night (275 rooms in total), while the three-star hotel provides a full package of standard hotel services, as does the entire Ibis hotel chain around the world. The hotel is located at 138 Java Road. The Hong Kong Convention Center and Exhibition Hall are nearby. Less than four kilometers to Causeway Bay. One minute from the hotel is the North Point Metro station. The hotel’s restaurant is open 24 hours a day.
Close to Causeway Bay is the popular four-star hotel The Empire Hotel Hong Kong, its address is Wing Hing Street, 8. Prices are about the same as in the previous hotel. You can start shopping as soon as you leave the hotel: it is located practically in the shopping area. A delightful feature of the rooms is the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, which fully allow you to admire the views of the city and the ocean. In addition to other standard services, a baby sitter can be arranged at the hotel. Times Square and Victoria Park are a short walk away.
Separately, I would like to name a few hotels located, one might say, in the heart of Causeway Bay, the most popular and lively area, full of retail outlets and restaurants, where every visitor considers it necessary to spend at least a few hours.
The Park Lane Hong Kong is a 5-star luxury hotel, a solid (805 rooms) hotel business facility with prices up to $ 1,000 per room.
The Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Causeway Bay, which is almost adjacent to Times Square, is also five-star, expensive, beautiful, and promises high-class service.
The Regal Hongkong Hotel is in the same price category, a luxury not in words, but in deeds. JIA Hong Kong is a relatively small and cozy 4-star hotel located in a small tower.
The Lanson Place Hotel (4 stars) is one of the rare hotels that occupies an old building rather than a modern one. The interior is decorated with old-fashioned elegance.
Another four-star hotel, Metropark Hotel Causeway Bay Hong Kong, is a high-tech hotel with an outdoor rooftop pool and huge windows in the rooms, allowing you to admire Hong Kong day and night. In these hotels, you can choose a room that costs from 200 to 400 dollars per day.
Rosedale On The Park is also 4 stars, excellent service, excellent location, spacious rooms, but the prices are lower than all of the above hotels in Causeway Bay. This hotel can easily be classified as a budget hotel.

Hotels in the Southern district of Hong Kong Island
There are not many hotels in the Southern district of Hong Kong, but there is something to recommend here. Many people leave excellent reviews about the hotel Le Meridien at Cyberport, 100. This hotel is located just a few minutes from Ocean Park. The hotel offers beautiful panoramas of Telegraph Bay Beach. Transportation allows you to quickly get to any part of the island, and the ferry to Macau is also nearby. 170 rooms in the hotel, their price is about 300-350 dollars.
At 55 Wong Chuk Hang Road, you will find a nice Island South Hotel, from which it is especially convenient to go shopping to Ap Lei Chau’s Shopping Center. This is a hotel, furnished and equipped with the latest design and technology. A free shuttle bus takes hotel guests to Ocean Park, Causeway Bay Metro Station and Airport Railway Station. Caritas Oswald Cheung International House is the very hotel where, for a very reasonable fee, you will receive full service and relaxation, excellent conditions and impressive ocean views. You can get here from the airport in 50 minutes. It is not difficult to get from here to the Aberdeen Boardwalk, Ocean Park, Jimbo – the largest floating restaurant in the world. There are only 119 rooms here, which is a pity, because their price per night starts from only $ 70.

Budget hotels on Hong Kong Island
For those who would like to settle on Hong Kong Island, but pay a relatively inexpensive price for a room, you can take a closer look at the following list of hotels on the island. They are scattered in all four of its districts.
There is a 150-room Y-Loft hotel in the Eastern district of the island. Address: 238 Chai Wan, Chai Wan Metro Station. Lei Yue Mun Seafood Bazaar Fish Market and City Plaza Shopping Mall are within walking distance. The four-star The Fleming Hong Kong Hotel (41 Fleming Road) is located in the center of Wan Chai district, where all kinds of entertainment and pleasure are concentrated. Budget hotels in Kowloon Peninsula
Hong Kong consists of 18 districts, with only four on Hong Kong Island. In some areas, tourists simply do not have time to get there, especially if the trip is short and lasts for several days. As for the popularity among tourists, the Kowloon Peninsula is the second most visited after the island. It is in Kowloon that many visitors prefer to settle.
By the way, there are a lot of inexpensive and even cheap housing in Kowloon. Cheap, but decent enough to be recommended. It is best to look for such hotels in the Tsim Sha Tsui area, located in the southern part of Kowloon. Administratively, it is part of the Yauchimmon District, famous for the world’s tallest skyscraper and the Walk of Fame for celebrities who have visited Hong Kong. Many guidebooks call Tsim Sha Tsui the most favorite place for Hong Kong visitors to spend time. It has the most entertainment, restaurants, pubs and museums. Nathan Road, one of Kowloon’s main thoroughfares, runs through Tsim Sha Tsui, crossing it from south to north.
Here, at 36-44 Nathan Road, is Chungking Mansions, a neighborhood that houses many budget hotels and hostelries. Hotels located in Chungking Mansions usually have two or one stars, and sometimes none. This is often a fairly simple accommodation, which meanwhile maintains a fairly decent level, acceptable international standard of comfort. There are other hotel blocks on this street, for example, a little further away, on Nathan Road, 58-62 stands Mirador Mansion, which houses the hotels Lily Garden Guest House, Venetian Hostel, Guangzhou Guest House and others. The prices for accommodation are about the same.
Of the major hotels in Kowloon, I would like to name the four-star Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees on Kowloon City Road, 199. There are 702 rooms with views of the whole city, free delivery to metro stations. The price starts from 180 dollars.
It is simply not possible to list all the hotels in Hong Kong in one article. Hotels in island areas and New Territories remained behind the scenes, among which there are real gems of the hotel business and quite cozy inexpensive hotels.
