Prices in Hong Kong

Цены в Гонконге

It is very important for every tourist traveling around the world to know the prices in a particular country in order to plan their budget and enjoy their vacation. Hong Kong is the most expensive country in the world and the prices here are much higher than in other cities of the world. In Hong Kong, prices are three times higher than in the neighboring cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

A trip to Hong Kong, like any other trip, involves a lot of expenses. But with careful planning of expenses, it is quite possible to have a good rest.

What always interests tourists first of all is the prices of hotel accommodation.

Hotels

Prices depend on the star of the hotel and the specific check-in date. Discounts on accommodation are very rare, only sometimes during the rainy season. Over the years, I’ve stayed in 40 hotels in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, I recommend staying only in 5-star hotels. They often don’t even pull 3 stars, and there are many reasons for this. As a rule, people come to Hong Kong for 2-3 days, so you can afford a more expensive hotel so as not to spoil your vacation. And it’s easy to ruin a vacation. The hotels in Hong Kong are quite old, the rooms are small and the service is poor. Therefore, the more expensive the hotel, the less upset you will be. But you’ll still be upset.
The most adequate hotels: Rosewood Hong Kong, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, Peninsula, Ritz Carlton, Sheraton, St. Regis.

Food

In Hong Kong, there are cafes on the streets, both for locals and expensive restaurants. Rooftop restaurants and view rooms with views of Victoria Bay are especially good. For those who are thrifty, food in Wellcome supermarkets or food courts in shopping malls are suitable.
Food prices in Hong Kong are high, as all products are imported from Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.

Entertainment and attractions

Most of the expenses will be spent on them. But the prices are quite reasonable. I want to see as much as possible and leave vivid memories of this wonderful place. The famous Hong Kong Disneyland. It’s just a fairy tale! Not only children like it here, but adults are also very happy to be here. Or a huge Buddha statue. It is recommended to get to it by cable Car. Moreover, going up, you will see the best panorama of Hong Kong.

There are other attractions in Hong Kong, the prices for which are quite low, and in some places admission is free. For example, parks and museums.

The observation deck at Victoria Peak is the hallmark of Hong Kong. There are amazing views of Hong Kong from here! It’s worth a visit! The place of Yue Lei Mun is no less interesting. The originality, the national flavor, the atmosphere of the East – all this is impressive.

It’s incredibly interesting at the Ocean Park amusement park. The huge aquarium simply amazes the imagination, the water park energizes, and other areas of this park occupy attention for a long time. There are also pandas!

A ferry ride across Victoria Bay is definitely worth it and it’s inexpensive. In the evening, there is a Laser show, which can be seen from the Alley of Stars. There is no need to pay for admission to the Zoological Garden and the Botanical Garden. As you can see, the sights can be seen without sacrificing funds. It is advantageous to take various sightseeing tours.

Fans of independent travel need to know the transport system and ticket prices. Travel by local public transport costs from HKD 3, while taxi fares range from HKD 40 to HKD 150 per trip. Passage through the underwater tunnel + 60 HKD

And of course, souvenirs! I recommend buying them on Temple street in the evening.

For a reasonable price, you can get an idea of modern Hong Kong and its ancient history. If you plan your trip wisely and take into account all the factors, you will not spend an insane amount of money, you will be satisfied and rested, and you will always remember a wonderful place – Hong Kong.

Most importantly, everything in Hong Kong is sold without VAT, so some types of goods have attractive prices!
